The overall objective was to create a mobile application for practitioners in kindergarten, enabling these practitioners to gather relevant language data from children aged three to five. An automated analysis of the data provides information about the child’s language skills. If a need for support in language development can be found in the data, the application offers further possibilities how stakeholders can support a children’s learning process for the specific field of language. The main criteria for a successful development were the effective collection of relevant data, high usability for practitioners and appropriate usage of a game-based mobile application for young children.
