Abstract

Remote Triggered Labs provides access to real experiments without time and location restrictions with necessary guidance required to perform experiments. Remote Triggered (RT) Labs have emerged as an alternative to real laboratories and have shifted the past pedagogy from student-centric to teaching-centric approach. Over the past decade several RT experiments have emerged in different parts of the world including those developed under Govt. of Indiaâ??s National Mission on Education through ICT as part of Right to Education (RTE) Program and various approaches have been implemented as to reinforce the use of Remote Labs in higher education. However, as the technology to build RT labs evolves there is a growing concern to adapt methodologies for developing scalable models of RT labs and introducing innovative ideas such as collaborative plans among universities within the RT labs framework. In this paper we propose a cloud based architecture for Remote Triggered Laboratory for Analog Communication. Cloud based models with their various characteristics e.g. - scalability, low cost and maintenance etc. provides several advantages to RT labs. Advanced web technologies are implemented to build up interface for teleoperation of high end instrumentation utilized in RT labs with interactive GUI design frameworks to deliver RT labs in a user friendly and more convenient environment.
