Abstract


We are witnessing a conceptual revolution in the possibilities of manipulating information through quantum technology. This revolution also affects the workforce, so it will also affect the education system. Even if some of the things we use on a daily basis, mobile phones, lasers, and satellites, use quantum technology, there is no education dedicated to the field. The paper looks at current quantum technologies, both 1.0 and 2.0. and notes the inertia in the modernisation of education, the persistence of linear thinking and approach to the detriment of the nonlinear one that quantum technology contains. It is shown that, due to the lack of predictability of the future evolution of quantum technologies and the partial coverage of the requirements of the quantum field by several general disciplines (quantum physics and mathematics), education does not offer stand-alone curricula oriented on quantum technology. A thorough analysis of the new areas of learning that quantum technology introduces has allowed us to imagine a system for designing curricula dedicated to this field, capable of responding to the extremely diverse requirements of the industry.
