Abstract


This study investigates the significance of professional development and teacher motivation in the effective utilization of mobile technology in language instruction. It explores how these variables have a significant impact on the adoption and utilization of technological tools in language teaching. The study investigates the relationship between teachers’ motivation and the importance of comprehensive professional development programs that encompass pedagogical approaches and proficiency in mobile technology. The study followed a mixed-method research design with a sample of (n = 200) teachers and students. The results underscore the importance of a synergistic connection between professional development, technological integration, and teacher motivation to enhance language learning in digital learning environments. The study recommends that through targeted professional development and motivational tactics, curriculum designers and educators can optimize language instruction.

Professor Habibullah Pathan is currently serving as a Research Professor at Sohar University, Oman. Prof Pathan has published his papers in many reputable journals published by Springer, Taylor and Francis, Emerald, Sciendo De Gruyter, National University of Malaysia, RUDN University Moscow and others. He has served as Guest Editor of Russian Journal of Linguistics (Scopus Q1). His research interests include Technology Integration in TESOL, L2 Motivation, CDA and corpus linguistics. Prof Pathan has won a number of research and travel grants and fellowships of which notables are international research grant awarded by RUDN University, research grant awarded by USEFP state Department, USA, Hubert H Humphrey Fellowship, AFHEA and HEC Faculty Development Scholarship award by Higher Education Commission.

Dr. Sahib Khatoon is first PhD in Pakistan who has done experimental research on computer assisted language learning, designed, and developed the weblog assisted reading comprehension module and awarded with best thesis award and best researcher award from University Sains Malaysia in 2022. She has several research publications in ISI and Scopus indexed journals including 6 book chapters with Tayler and Frances and Springer Publishers. Dr. Sahiba is a HEC and AIT Thailand certified trainer and conducted many trainings and workshops in universities and college teachers.
