Abstract


This paper will be looking into the teaching method developed by the Institute for European Studies in Brussels, combining an e-learning tool- the E-modules- with face-to-face training sessions and webinars. The main aim is to analyse the three different components of this â??blended learning

Author Biographies

Alina Christova, Institute for European Studies

Alina Christova is a fully trained German lawyer with a specialisation in European Union law, international law and East European law. She has worked as a political adviser for the Council of the European Union, as a legal expert for the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights and for several university institutions in Berlin, Germany, including the Humboldt University, the European Centre for Comparative Government and Public Policy as well as the Institute for East European Studies. Currently, she is part of the E-Learning and Training Unit of the Institute for European Studies in Brussels, Belgium.

Alexandra Mihai, Institute for European Studies

Alexandra Mihai has a Master degree in European Studies from the University of Bonn, Germany and is currently working as a researcher at the Institute for European Studies at the Free University of Brussels. She is working in the E-learning and training department that has developed the E-modules on European institutions and law. Alexandra gives lectures on EU institutions, especially the European Commission and the European Parliament, decision-making process, cohesion policy and multi-level governance as well as a guide of EU information sources.
