Abstract

Motivating students at low and upper secondary schools to learn programming languages is not an easy task for a teacher. Namely, programming is not and easy job to do and the results of first “programs” seem to be very poor compared even to free software available on the web. So why learn programming languages? To overcome the trouble of motivation in teaching programming languages, we have developed a course to introduce Delphi, Visual basic, C++, LabView, … based on practical examples supported by self developed, low-cost data acquisition modules. In-service teachers at secondary schools who attended the workshops accepted this concept positively, most of them reported about positive change of students’ attitude regarding programming classes.
