Abstract


Transformations of knowledge and collaboration with international R&D experts are becoming increasingly common and an important part of international competitiveness. The object of Integrative Action is to integrate the three statutory tasks set for universities of applied sciences in Finland: education, research and development, and regional development. The constructive research question addressed in this article is: What are the constructions and models contributing to international and global activities, which are used in implementation and actualization by Finnish universities of applied sciences? The case in this article is Laurea University of Applied Sciences. The new proposition involves the Integrative Action model, with its elements and its applications from the perspective of globalization. The main contributions of the integrative action and process model are 1) the creation of a sustainable and linear framework for cyclic innovation activities and 2) the implementation of regional development and globalization perspectives Laurea University of Applied Sciencesâ?? everyday activities. The proposed models were applied and tested in higher education.
